ICU RN – Float Pool (Night Shift)

Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift & Duration: 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 13-week contract | 36 guaranteed hours per week

Position Overview

Join the facility's critical care team as a Float Pool RN. You'll provide direct care to high-acuity patients across multiple critical care units, including the ICU, emergency department, step-down unit, and post-anesthesia care area. This is an ideal role for an experienced critical care nurse comfortable with autonomy and flexibility in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients requiring intensive monitoring and mechanical ventilation
• Manage advanced life support equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and sedation medications per physician orders
• Assess patient condition continuously, escalate changes in status, and respond to rapid response and code situations
• Collaborate with intensivists, physicians, and care teams on treatment plans
• Maintain accurate EMR documentation
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
• Educate patients and families on condition and treatment

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years ICU/critical care experience
• Proficiency with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• CCRN certification preferred
• Minimal required time off during contract period
