Hospital Pharmacist – Richmond, VA
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Hospital Pharmacist for the pharmacy department. This is a 24-week contract assignment.
Shift & Schedule
- Evening shift: 14:30–01:00 (2:30 PM–1:00 AM)
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
- No floating required
Requirements
- Virginia State Pharmacist license (required)
- Minimum 2 years hospital pharmacy experience
- Strong clinical knowledge in:
- Vancomycin AUC dosing
- Aminoglycoside and renal dosing
- Warfarin, enoxaparin, heparin, and DOAC protocols
- Electrolyte management
Clinical Scope
You'll work in a high-acuity pharmacy supporting patients across trauma, burn care, critical care, pediatrics, and cardiac surgery—including ECMO cases. Your responsibilities include:
- IV verification and compounding
- Medication verification for complex patient populations
- Advanced clinical dosing consultations
Unit Environment
The pharmacy team has strong tenure and stability, with an average of 13 years per pharmacist. This opening exists due to team member relocation. You'll have access to clinical resources including Sanford Guide, UpToDate, Vanc AUC calculator, Briggs, and LexiDrug.
Dress Code
Silver or purple scrubs preferred.
