Night Shift Med/Surg/Oncology RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an RN for a night Med/Surg/Oncology unit serving adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. This is a 13-week contract position.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour nights: 18:30 – 07:00
• Every other weekend
• No on-call requirements
• Floating to other units as needed
• Hospital may cancel/call off one shift biweekly without penalty if census decreases

Clinical Scope

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years Med/Surg/Tele experience
• Current AHA BLS certification (required; other forms not accepted)
• Charge experience preferred
• First-time travelers welcome
• Must reside more than 100 miles from the facility

Onboarding

• Orientation begins on a Sunday with online modules
• 16 hours of nonbillable orientation included
• Relias basic EKG test required within 72 hours of offer acceptance (two attempts allowed; failure results in cancellation)
• Drug screening required 12–14 calendar days before start
• Fit testing required; facial hair must be trimmed/removed per CDC guidelines
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)

Candidate Responsibility

You'll actively support nursing student clinical education alongside daily patient care.
