PCU / Stepdown

Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit RN — Night Shift | Morgantown, WV

13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | ASAP Start

This Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patients with cardiac diagnoses, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, alongside general medical/surgical patients. Acuity varies — some patients would be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry-level in other settings, so flexibility and strong clinical judgment are essential.

Clinical Skills & Scope

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• IV starts, PICC line management, central line care
• Heparin and IV insulin protocols
• BiPAP/CPAP management, non-invasive airway management
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Chest tube and tracheostomy management
• Blood product administration, wound care, PCA management

Schedule & Coverage

• 4x12-hour night shifts; weekdays with some weekend shifts required
• Weekend block scheduling (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) will be considered
• Holiday RTO limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year Med/Surg/Telemetry and 2 years Stepdown experience
• Active ACLS and BLS (AHA-issued) required
• Ability to read cardiac strips
• WV or Compact RN license required (pending accepted at submission)
• Permanent residence 100+ miles from the facility
• Scrub colors: burgundy and/or white
