Critical Care ED Pharmacist

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Critical Care ED Pharmacist to provide clinical pharmacy services in a high-acuity emergency and intensive care environment. You'll work as an integral member of the resuscitation and critical care teams, attending codes and emergencies while ensuring optimal medication management and stewardship.

Shift & Schedule

• Evening: 12:30 PM – 9:00 PM (5x8-hour)
• Swing: 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM (5x8-hour)
• Potential day shifts available with rounding experience
• 7 days per week availability preferred to support 24/7 operations
• 13-week contract

Essential Responsibilities

• Attend Code Blues, traumatic arrests, and Rapid Sequence Intubations; provide medications and documentation
• Manage Code Strokes and Code Sepsis; review patient profiles, make clinical recommendations, and prepare medications
• Review and verify all STAT orders in the ED and ICU; monitor for drug interactions and clinical safety issues
• Conduct drug utilization reviews and participate in antibiotic stewardship initiatives
• Provide pharmacokinetic dosing, monitoring services, and clinical consultation to medical staff
• Function as a clinical resource across the hospital

Required Qualifications

• Board certification: BCCCP or BCEMP
• PGY2 residency in Critical Care or ED, OR 5+ years clinical care experience in ICU/ED
• 1+ year ASHP-accredited residency OR 4+ years acute hospital experience
• Current Texas pharmacy license
• BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions available)
