Emergency Department Nurse – 16-Week Contract

Shift: 18:45 – 07:15 (nights)

About the Role
The facility's Emergency Department is a high-volume, fast-paced environment serving a diverse community. You'll provide direct patient care across all ED areas, from and cardiac monitoring to behavioral health holds. This is a team-oriented setting where collaboration, real-time feedback, and patient-centered care are core values.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver nursing care to patients across the full spectrum of emergency conditions
- Float flexibly between all ED sections based on patient census and acuity
- Support AIDET principles and maintain respectful, compassionate patient interactions
- Work collaboratively with nursing techs, unit clerks, and interdisciplinary teams
- Document care in the facility's electronic health record system
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years nursing experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a trauma center or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits annually) preferred
- Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC
(CPI certification required by hire date)
- Strong teamwork mentality and ability to provide real-time coaching and feedback
- Flexibility to work all ED areas; every other weekend required
- Navy scrubs required
