Pediatric / Oncology Registered Nurse — Nights | Asheville, NC

About the Unit
This combined Pediatric and Oncology unit provides specialized inpatient care for both general pediatric patients and pediatric/adult oncology patients. The unit is staffed around the clock with dedicated oncology-trained nurses to ensure safe, specialized care at all times.
Clinical Scope & Patient Population
- General pediatric inpatient care alongside oncology-focused nursing
- At least one oncology-trained nurse on every shift
- Procedures and care aligned with pediatric and oncology acuity levels
Staffing Structure
- Night shift: 4 RNs, 1 Charge RN, 1 RT, 1 PCT
Float Areas: PICU, NICU
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Required certifications: BLS, PALS; APHON certification required for oncology role
- Pediatric hospital experience — mandatory
- Pediatric oncology experience — mandatory; candidates without this background will not be considered
- Detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable in a fast-paced clinical environment
Scheduling Expectations
- Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
- 6 weekend shifts required per contract, with at least 2 Saturdays
Dress Code: All navy blue scrubs or white top
