ICU Travel RN — Long Beach, CA | 13-Week Contract

This ICU position focuses on high-acuity adult patients presenting with complex neurological, cardiac, and critical illness diagnoses. The unit manages patients with stroke, TBI, ventricular conditions, Camino ICP monitoring, PCI, sepsis, and ETOH-related complications. RNs manage ventilated patients and administer a full range of vasoactive and sedation drips, including pressors and antiarrhythmics.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days, 0630–1900
• Every other weekend required
• Must be available to work 2 of 3 major holidays
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Environment

• RNs read and interpret their own cardiac monitor strips — no monitor techs on unit
• Respiratory therapy and pharmacy support available 24/7
• Charge RN carries no patient assignment; a Resource RN may take limited assignments
• Float requirement: Tele and ED ICU/Tele holds

Orientation

Requirements

• Active RN license (CA eligible)
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 3 years of ICU experience preferred
• Huddle and bedside report utilized
• Scrub color: Navy blue
• No acrylic nails or gel polish permitted during assignment

• The facility may cancel up to 4 shifts over a 13-week contract
