Registered Nurse – Free Standing Emergency Department
Location: Austin, TX | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Contract: 13 Weeks | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
This night shift RN role is based in a free-standing emergency department serving a community patient population. The unit operates with a small, close-knit team, making collaboration and a team-oriented attitude essential.
Shift & Schedule
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Weekend rotation required
- No on-call requirements
Clinical Responsibilities
- IV insertion and management
- 12-lead EKG acquisition and interpretation
- Comprehensive patient assessment and monitoring
- Ventilator management support
- Point-of-care lab testing
Candidate Requirements
- Active RN license (Texas or compact)
- Minimum 1–2 years of emergency nursing experience
- FSED experience preferred and prioritized
- Strong assessment skills and comfort working in a low-staffing, high-responsibility environment
- Team-oriented, inclusive approach to patient care
Work Environment
- Small ED unit with lean staffing — nurses must be confident working independently alongside a charge nurse
- Permanent positions available for strong performers
- Scrubs: Navy blue
