Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 12 weeks

Location: Murfreesboro, TN

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Room is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to deliver rapid, high-quality care to patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where clinical judgment, quick decision-making, and teamwork are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid patient assessments and according to severity and urgency.
• Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, neurological status, and patient condition changes.
• Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and ordered treatments.
• Initiate and maintain IV access; obtain laboratory specimens.
• Assist with emergency procedures: CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, wound care, and lifesaving interventions.
• Operate and monitor cardiac monitors, defibrillators, infusion pumps, and ventilators.
• Recognize patient deterioration and initiate prompt interventions.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and the care team.
• Provide care across medical, surgical, cardiac, neurological, psychiatric, pediatric, and trauma emergencies.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, treatments, and discharge instructions.
• Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted RN license.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• PALS certification (may be required).
• TNCC certification (preferred or required).
• Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
