Emergency Room Registered Nurse
Position Overview
The facility's Emergency Department seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to provide rapid, high-quality care to patients experiencing acute illnesses, injuries, and life-threatening emergencies. You'll work in a fast-paced environment where clinical judgment, teamwork, and quick decision-making are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform rapid patient assessments and based on acuity and urgency
- Monitor vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and neurological status; recognize and respond to patient deterioration
- Administer medications, IV fluids, blood products, and treatments as ordered
- Initiate and maintain IV access; obtain specimens for laboratory testing
- Assist with emergency procedures including CPR, trauma resuscitation, intubation, and wound care
- Operate and monitor emergency equipment (cardiac monitors, defibrillators, ventilators)
- Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, and other team members
- Provide education to patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, and discharge instructions
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Follow infection-control and medication-safety protocols
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted RN license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Previous emergency department, critical care, or acute-care nursing experience preferred
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications preferred or may be required
Shift & Contract Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Duration: 12 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Location: Murfreesboro, TN
