Physician Assistant – Orthopedics

Position Overview

Join the orthopedic team in a full-time role providing medical and surgical care to inpatient and outpatient populations. You'll work closely with attending physicians, participate in multidisciplinary rounds, and serve as first or second assist in the operating room.

What You'll Do

• Manage routine inpatient care: order diagnostics, labs, imaging, and medications (within PA scope); coordinate adjunctive therapies
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and communicate treatment plans with physicians, nursing staff, and families
• Perform bedside history and physicals; assess emergency conditions and implement management with attending physicians
• Manage patient discharge planning, follow-up coordination, and patient education
• Assist in surgery: perform surgical exposure, dissections, wound closure, and apply dressings and immobilization devices
• Cover first-assist on-call shifts in the operating room on a rotating basis; include potential clinic coverage as needed

Qualifications Required

• California Physician Assistant License
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification
• DEA license
• Minimum 3 years experience in inpatient, outpatient, and surgical care

Schedule & Contract

• Full-time with on-call coverage including nights and weekends
• 26-week contract
• Start date: September 30, 2026
