Medical-Surgical RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

Join a medical-surgical unit providing acute care for adults with a wide range of conditions. You'll work nights on a dynamic team where clinical nurse coordinators lead daily huddles, manage patient flow, and support staff at every shift.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights: 19:00–07:30
• Weekdays + weekends: 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
• Contract length: 13 weeks (extension possible)
• Start date: ASAP

Requirements

• Current RN license (WV or Compact; pending acceptable)
• Minimum 2 years med-surg nursing experience
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)

Clinical Skills & Scope

You'll care for patients requiring:

• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Oxygen delivery (nasal cannula, high-flow, non-invasive airway management)
• Central and peripheral line management, PICC lines
• Chest tube, tracheostomy, and surgical drain care
• Blood product administration, PCA pumps, heparin protocols
• Feeding tube and wound care management
• Pre/post-procedure care (cardiac catheterization, hemodialysis)
• Phlebotomy, ABG interpretation, isolation precautions

Unit Details

• Interdisciplinary support: IV team, respiratory, PT, pharmacy, radiology, social services, rapid response
• Daily census: ~30 adults

Expectations

Attendance is critical. The facility expects no more than 2–3 call-offs per contract.
