Circulating RN – Operating Room
Position Overview
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced Circulating RN to support trauma and general surgical cases. You'll work in a fast-paced surgical environment where communication, precision, and strong teamwork are essential.
Shift & Schedule
- Primary: Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM
- On-call: Call shifts required as staffing needs dictate, varying across weekday and weekend hours
- Holiday call: Required for Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve/Day, and New Year's Eve/Day
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Residency requirement: Must live within 100 miles of the facility
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate and/or scrub for operative procedures
- Prepare the operating room; assemble, test, and inventory equipment and supplies
- Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to surgical standards
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care
- Communicate with the surgical team, patients, and families
- Coordinate with team members to ensure smooth case flow
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license in the state/district
- Minimum 3 years of OR experience, including trauma cases
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program
- BSN highly desired
