Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) RN

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room RN for a 13-week contract. You'll join a high-volume cardiac surgical program performing approximately 30 cases daily, including open heart procedures, TAVR, endovascular interventions, and thoracic cases.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour day shifts, 6:30 AM – 7:00 PM
• One weekday call per week (30-minute response time; on-site call room available)
• One weekend per month (Friday, Saturday, Sunday) in rotation
• Shift times negotiable
• 36 guaranteed hours per week

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• BLS (AHA) certification required
• ACLS preferred
• Open heart and/or endovascular surgical experience required
• Must be comfortable scrubbing in to assist with cardiac cases and chest closure

Clinical Details

You'll work in a cardiac surgical suite with 16 operating rooms (3 dedicated CVOR). The team includes 8 OR technicians and an experienced charge nurse/house supervisor. Common procedures include open heart surgery, TAVR, endovascular repairs, and thoracic cases.

Floating & Other Expectations

• Float to General OR as needed when CVOR cases are unavailable
• Possible floating within the affiliated facility network in extreme circumstances
• Hospital-provided light blue scrubs
• One week unit-specific orientation required (must be on-site during orientation week)
• Valid driver's license required; 60-mile radius

Contract Terms

• 13 weeks
• Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled per 13-week assignment
• Start date: October 26, 2026
