ICU Registered Nurse | Bakersfield, CA | Day Shift
This 13-week contract places you in an intensive care unit managing high-acuity patients in a fast-paced acute care environment. The position carries an anticipated start date of late October 2026.
Shift Details
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week (with 48-hour availability)

Clinical Scope
The ICU team cares for critically ill patients requiring advanced hemodynamic monitoring and mechanical circulatory support. Experience with Impella devices and intra-aortic balloon pumps (IABP) is required for this role, reflecting the complexity of the patient population managed on this unit.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in California (or compact state eligibility)
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience
- BLS (AHA-approved)
- ACLS (AHA or ARC)
- Impella and intra-aortic balloon pump experience — required
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
What to Expect
You'll function as an autonomous, critical-thinking clinician, developing and implementing individualized care plans, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, and supporting discharge planning. Supervisory duties over ancillary nursing staff are part of the role.
