Night Shift Medical-Surgical Nurse
Shift: 7:30 PM – 7:00 AM, 12-hour nights
Contract: 13 weeks
Guarantee: 36 hours/week

Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical nurse for its night shift. You'll coordinate total nursing care for patients, participate in patient and family teaching, and work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary team. You may be asked to serve as a backup Charge Nurse during your assignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Float flexibly between Med-Surg, Acute Rehab, and other units within your scope of practice
- Provide clinical leadership and mentor support to team members
- Maintain professional nursing standards in a collaborative care environment
Requirements
- Current RN license: Vermont or Compact
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS (AHA): Current and active
- Experience: Minimum 2 years in Medical-Surgical/Rehab nursing (required)
- Charge Nurse experience: Required—not negotiable
- Prior travel assignment: At least 3 months (required)
- Education: BSN preferred
- Own vehicle: Required; this is a small community without public transportation
Important Notes
- Call is required for this assignment
- Holiday commitments: You must work two designated holiday blocks (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
- Maximum 5 days RTO during the contract; all time-off requests must be submitted at the time of application
- No block scheduling accommodations available
- Three-strike call-off policy enforced by the facility
- Supervisory reference from the past 2 years required at submission
