Med Surg

Ortho/Trauma RN | Kansas City, Missouri | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is on an Ortho/Trauma unit providing care for post-operative orthopedic and trauma patients. The unit manages a high-acuity mix including post-op knee, hip, and shoulder replacements, trauma admissions, and some neuro overflow. NIH stroke assessment experience is a plus.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 07:00–19:00 (12-hour shifts)
• Three 12-hour shifts per week; three weekend shifts per schedule period
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Start date: November 30

Float Requirements

Contract staff are first to float. Float assignments rotate among MedSurg-level units including General Med/Surg, Nephrology, and Neuro/Trauma.

Unit Support

Unit Secretaries and PCTs are available on the floor. Bedside shift report and hourly rounding are standard patient experience expectations.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Orthopedic nursing experience
• Telemetry experience
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) experience preferred

Dress Code

Navy scrubs required
