Transplant Nephrology — Medical/Surgical | Kansas City, MO

Nights | 4 x 12 | 13-Week Contract

This Transplant Nephrology unit provides medical/surgical care for patients with complex renal conditions, including kidney transplant recipients and those requiring dialysis management. Dialysis is performed off the unit, so bedside nursing focuses on post-transplant monitoring, renal patient management, and general med/surg care.

A virtual nurse handles patient admissions, allowing bedside nurses to direct their full attention to patient care — a meaningful support to day-to-day workflow.

Shift Details

• Nights: 19:00–07:00
• 48 hours guaranteed per week
• 3 weekend shifts required per month
• No on-call requirements

Floating

Agency/contract nurses float first per unit policy.

Required Qualifications

• ADN minimum
• BLS certification required
• Background in Med/Surg, Nephrology, Renal, Kidney Transplant, and/or Dialysis

Unit Support

• Unit secretary available during day hours
• Patient care technicians on unit
• Unit educator on staff

Dress Code

Royal blue scrubs; black scrub pants permitted.
