Travel RN – PCU
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week travel assignment in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU).Key Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of hospital experience, specifically in PCU
- Active Compact License at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications
- Strong dysrhythmia recognition and critical drip management skills
About the Unit
This PCU manages patients requiring intermediate-level monitoring and care, with a focus on cardiac patients. You'll care for pre- and post-cardiac catheterization patients, those with pacemakers, and other step-down admissions. The unit operates with 5 RNs and 2 LNAs per shift, with flexible staffing based on census.
Clinical Scope
- Cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation
- Critical medication administration
- Post-procedure patient monitoring and education
- Interdisciplinary collaboration
Schedule & Expectations
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Every other weekend or equivalent based on staffing needs
- Float assignments to Med/Surg, ICU, and ED as needed for patient flow
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience with cardiac catheterization care, pacemaker management, or HCA background is valued.
