Medical-Surgical RN — Travel Contract | Morgantown, WV

Shift: Nights, 4x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Extension possible

About the Unit

This acute medical-surgical unit cares for adult patients across a broad range of diagnoses and acuity levels. The team is known for strong interdisciplinary collaboration, with support from IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, rapid response teams, phlebotomy, and social services. Nurses here are adaptable, team-oriented, and committed to evidence-based practice.

Clinical Scope & Skills

• Airway management: BiPAP/CPAP, tracheostomy care, oral suctioning, non-invasive airway management
• Vascular access: peripheral line care, PICC line management, phlebotomy, starting and maintaining IVs
• Specialty care: post-surgical (bariatric, total joint replacement, neurosurgery, ortho trauma), CVA, TBI, spinal cord injury, substance withdrawal, renal failure, pre/post hemodialysis
• Medication management: IV insulin protocols, heparin, PCA, blood product administration
• Additional: chest tube management, colostomy/ileostomy care, wound care/wound vac, ABG interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management

Requirements

• Active WV or Compact RN license (pending accepted for submission)
• Minimum 2 years RN experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS (all via American Heart Association)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility

• Attendance: No more than 2–3 call-offs per contract
