Operating Room Nurse – 12-Hour Night Shift
About the Role
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced OR nurse for a 91-week contract working 12-hour night shifts (7 PM–7 AM) with weekends as scheduled. You'll work in a busy surgical environment managing diverse case types across 11 operating rooms and endoscopy suites.
Clinical Scope
This role involves all areas of perioperative nursing. You'll support vascular, general, orthopedic, neurological, ophthalmic, and ENT procedures. The facility performs approximately 65 cases daily and is newly equipped with the DaVinci Robot—experience with robotic-assisted surgery is highly valued. Cross-training to endoscopy is available.
Requirements & Schedule
- Valid RN license and current BLS certification required
- ACLS certification required (due to modern sedation protocols)
- Must provide a copy of unexpired driver's license with submission
- 50-mile radius rule applies
- Guaranteed 36 hours per week
- Call rotation: one weeknight call per 4 weeks (7 PM–7 AM) and one weekend shift per 3 months (up to 24 hours)
- Up to 2 shift cancellations permitted per 13-week contract period
Environment
You'll work with infusion pumps, monitoring systems, and robotic platforms. No prescreen required—experience across all OR areas is essential.
Candidate must be within 50-mile radius and able to provide valid driver's license.
