Telemetry / Med-Surg — Registered Nurse | Night Shift | Lufkin, TX

This 42-week contract places you on a Med-Surg Telemetry unit caring for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, diabetes, ia, and chronic kidney disease. The unit runs 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) with every other weekend required. Holidays are also required.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights | 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• Block scheduling is not guaranteed; scheduling managed by the unit manager

Clinical Scope

• Med-Surg Tele patient population with moderate acuity
• CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen patients managed on unit
• Telemetry monitor techs are present; RNs must be able to independently read rhythm strips
• PCT support available on unit

Float Requirements

First to float to all Med-Surg and Telemetry units as needed

Support Structure

Charge Nurse, House Supervisors, and Nurse Educators are available on unit

Requirements

• Active RN license (Texas or compact)
• BLS certification required
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Experience with telemetry monitoring

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy blue
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment; 3 shifts for shorter contracts
