REGISTERED NURSE – MEDICAL-SURGICAL TELEMETRY
Location: Elizabethtown, KY
Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: November 16, 2026
About the Role
Join the facility's Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit to provide direct patient care for adults with a range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously, respond to patient condition changes, and coordinate care with the interdisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and communicate rhythm changes
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips
- Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
- Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and discharge instructions
- Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and team members on discharge planning
- Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are consistently followed
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately
Requirements
- Active, unrestricted RN license (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Minimum 1+ year Med-Surg Telemetry experience
- Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
- ADN or BSN (BSN preferred)
