Med Surg Tele

Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN — Night Shift | Maryville, TN

13-Week Travel Contract | Nights: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | 3×12-Hour Shifts

This Med/Surg Telemetry unit cares for adult and geriatric patients across a range of medical and surgical diagnoses, with a daily census of 15–20 patients. The clinical environment is supported by an interdisciplinary team including IV therapy, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, and social services.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 18:45–07:15 | 3×12-hour shifts
• Every other weekend required (subject to change based on unit need)
• Floating to like units may be required based on skill set

Required Qualifications

• Active TN RN license or multistate compact license
• Minimum 1 year of experience in Med/Surg or Telemetry
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Clinical Skills

• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation
• IV insertion and management; PICC and central line care
• Blood product administration
• Port access and management
• Feeding tube care; colostomy/ileostomy management
• Bariatric and orthopedic/total joint patient care
• Short-stay (23-hour) patient management

Additional Details

• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Charge experience preferred
• Orientation held every Monday; pre-assignment modules required within 48 hours of system access (up to 16 hours reimbursable)
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Travelers must meet distance requirements from all system facilities to be eligible
