Medical/Surgical Telemetry – Travel RN | Simpsonville, SC

Day Shift | 13-Week Contract

This telemetry unit cares for an adult and geriatric population with a focus on orthopedic and bariatric diagnoses. The unit is fast-paced and interdisciplinary, supported by physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, radiology, phlebotomy, social services, and unit secretaries.

Shift & Schedule

• Days: 3x12-hour shifts, 07:00–19:30
• Contract duration: 13 weeks
• Start date: November 2, 2026; orientation begins on a Monday

Float Requirements

Floating to other like units or nearby campuses may be required based on census needs. Staff are only floated to units where documented competencies apply.

Clinical Skills Required

• Blood product administration
• Central line care and management
• Peripheral line care and management
• Telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Dysrhythmia recognition and management
• Oxygen administration (nasal cannula and other modalities)
• Isolation precautions and PPE

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active South Carolina RN license
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 3 years within Med/Surg Telemetry preferred
• At least 1 year of recent experience with a major electronic health record system (required)
• Orthopedic and/or bariatric nursing experience strongly preferred

Additional Notes

• Pre-assignment testing and online modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials (up to 16 hours of module time is reimbursable)
• Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Travelers may extend up to three consecutive 13-week contracts; a fourth consecutive extension is not permitted
