Cardiovascular ICU – 12-Hour Day Shift

About the Role

Join a high-acuity cardiovascular ICU managing complex cardiac patients. You'll care for post-transplant, LVAD, and post-surgical valve and coronary artery bypass patients in a busy environment requiring strong clinical judgment and flexibility.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 6 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle
• Scheduled based on unit needs; flexibility required
• No call or standby
• 42-week contract

Unit Details

• Charge RN on the floor with patients
• 1 PCA per shift
• Intensivist on-site
• RT available 24/7
• Hardwire cardiac monitoring; RNs read strips
• Orientation: 2–3 shifts with preceptor

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license
• Minimum 3+ years ICU experience
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• CRRT trained
• Proficiency titrating vasoactive drips
• Experience in high-acuity hospital settings

Additional Information

• Floating required (based on competency)
• Teal scrubs
• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (or 3 shifts for shorter assignments)

What You'll See

Heart and lung transplants, LVAD support, Impella, IABP, and post-cardiac surgery patients requiring vigilant hemodynamic management and advanced critical care skills.
