Physical Therapist – Inpatient Rehabilitation
Position Overview
The facility seeks a Physical Therapist for its inpatient rehabilitation unit in Wichita, KS. This is a 13-week contract position working day shift, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, with every-other-weekend rotation required.
Unit & Clinical Scope
You'll join a newly built inpatient rehabilitation unit focused on acute care recovery. The team treats patients across a range of conditions, emphasizing neurological and functional recovery. Daily clinical work includes:
- Evaluations and treatment planning
- Gait training and mobility restoration
- Neuromuscular reeducation
- Caregiver and family education
- Transfer and positioning techniques
Patients are required to receive 3 hours of therapy daily; you will track and document treatment time to meet these requirements. You'll manage a caseload of up to 6 hours of treatment during your 8-hour shift and work collaboratively with occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and nursing staff.
Requirements
- Minimum 6 months current acute care PT experience
- BLS certification
- Strong hands-on clinical skills and patient education ability
- Flexibility with treatment scheduling and weekend availability
- Team-oriented approach in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in acute inpatient rehabilitation settings
- Neuro certification or background
Equipment & Facility Details
The unit features state-of-the-art technology and equipment, including ESTIM, patient lifts, transfer devices, and a full IADL kitchen for functional training.
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
