Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Days, 8 hours (6:15 AM start, may vary based on caseload) | Schedule: 5×8s, 40 hours guaranteed
This OR Surgical Tech role places you in a fast-paced surgical environment covering a broad range of specialties. You'll function as an integral member of the interdisciplinary team, contributing clinical expertise across diverse surgical cases.
Surgical Specialties:
- Spine
- Orthopedics
- General surgery
- Robotics
- ENT
- Gynecology
On-Call Requirements:
- 8–10 on-call days per 6-week period (begins after your shift, Monday–Friday)
- 4–5 weekend call days per month (Friday–Sunday)
- Holiday call included
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of OR scrub experience
- Prior travel OR experience required
- Proficiency in spine, orthopedics, general surgery, robotics, ENT, and gynecology
- Iowa Mandatory Reporter certification
- Active NBSTSA certification
- Active AHA BLS and ACLS
- Valid driver's license
Float: May be asked to float within the same discipline across local campuses.
Submission Requirements:
- Discipline-specific skills checklist (OR/Surgical Tech)
- Supervisory reference form completed within the last two years
- All certifications uploaded at time of submission
Candidate Eligibility: Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility. Former employees of the system within the past 12 months are not eligible.
