ICU RN – 12-Hour Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced ICU RN for its Cardiac/Cardiovascular unit. This is a high-acuity environment caring for post-surgical and critically ill cardiac patients. You'll work nights (7pm–7am) on a 13-week contract with a guaranteed 36 hours per week.

Unit Details

Two connected high-acuity units caring for:

• Heart and lung transplant patients
• LVAD (left ventricular assist device) patients
• Post-cardiac surgery patients (ACB, valve repairs/replacements)
• Patients requiring advanced hemodynamic support (IABP, Impella)

Key Responsibilities

• Titrate vasoactive drips and manage complex medication regimens
• Operate and troubleshoot CRRT/SLED, LVAD devices, and mechanical ventilation
• Collaborate with an in-house intensivist and 24/7 respiratory therapy team
• Float to other units as needed based on competency
• Charge nurse support available; 1 PCA per shift

Requirements

• 3+ years ICU experience; previous travel nursing preferred
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• CRRT training preferred (willing to train if needed)
• Flexible scheduling; no self-scheduling
• Must commit to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• Teal scrubs

Orientation & Support

2–3 shifts with an experienced preceptor to orient to unit-specific workflows.
