CVICU Registered Nurse – Night Shift | Houston, TX

Contract: 42 weeks | Start Date: October 26, 2026

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)

Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week

About the Role

This CVICU position supports a high-acuity critical care unit specializing in open heart surgery, cardiac transplants, and complex post-operative management. The unit serves a demanding, fast-paced patient population requiring advanced critical care expertise.

Clinical Focus

• Post-cardiac surgery and transplant patient management
• CRRT (continuous renal replacement therapy) experience preferred
• Recent ECMO experience strongly preferred
• High-acuity critical care across a broad range of complex presentations

Requirements

• Active RN license (must submit prior to start)
• Minimum 3 years of critical care experience, ideally in a high-volume acute care setting
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Flexibility to float to other units as needed
• No self-scheduling; every other weekend (EOW) required

Additional Details

• Cancellation policy: 4 shifts per 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter contracts)
• On-site and off-campus parking available; daily rate approximately $15+, or monthly pass options ranging $95–$120
• BSN not required
