Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Travel RN

Independence, MO | 13-Week Contract | Days, 4×12

This PCU opening is a strong fit for experienced step-down nurses who thrive in a fast-paced environment managing higher-acuity intermediate care patients. The unit handles a diverse patient population including those requiring vasoactive drip management, respiratory support, and post-procedural monitoring.

Shift & Schedule

• 07:00–19:00 | 48 hours guaranteed per week
• Every 3rd weekend rotation
• Rotating holiday schedule

Clinical Scope

• Management of vasoactive drips
• Central line and PICC line care/placement
• Chest tube placements
• Respiratory support including BiPAP and heated high-flow nasal cannula
• Enteral nutrition via feeding pumps

Float Requirements

• Travel staff may float to the Telemetry Unit up to once per week

Patient Experience Standards

• Bedside shift report, hourly rounding, and daily leadership rounds are expected

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS

Required Skills

• Advanced assessment and critical thinking
• Vasoactive drip management experience

Dress Code

• Charcoal grey scrub tops; charcoal grey or black scrub bottoms; black or charcoal grey jacket

• Team-oriented with a positive attitude and solid step-down or PCU clinical background
