Medical-Surgical RN | Night Shift | Utica, NY
Join a busy adult Medical-Surgical unit providing post-operative and general medical care in Utica, NY. This is a 13-week travel contract with night shifts running 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM (3×12-hour shifts per week), with 36 guaranteed hours weekly.
Unit Overview
The MS unit cares for an adult patient population with a focus on post-surgical recovery and general medical diagnoses, including:
- Abdominal pain and cholelithiasis
- Osteoarthritis and fractures
- Back pain and bariatric (morbid obesity) surgery
Nurses regularly work with IV pumps, nasogastric tubes, and feeding tubes.
Schedule & Logistics
- Shift: 6:30 PM – 7:00 AM, Night 12×3
- Floating required
- Scrub color: Navy Blue
- Block scheduling is not guaranteed
- Local candidates (within 75 miles) are welcome
Requirements
- Active New York RN license (verified via NURSYS)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical experience
- Travel nursing experience required
- Current AHA BLS certification
- Skills checklist completed for specialty
- RTO must be submitted at time of application
- Valid driver's license with address matching demographics on file
