Registered Nurse – Emergency Department

Location: Susanville, CA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a dynamic, high-acuity team. You'll work in a fast-paced environment managing a diverse patient population—from urgent cases to trauma activations and critical emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and acuity assessment on incoming patients
• Deliver comprehensive emergency nursing care across a broad spectrum of conditions
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols and physician orders
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
• Manage patient flow and monitor those awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Maintain infection control, safety, and de-escalation standards

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required
• 1+ years of emergency department experience
• Comfort with protocols and high-acuity environments
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
