Labor & Delivery RN — Thousand Oaks, CA
Days | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract
This busy Labor & Delivery unit manages a full spectrum of obstetric care, including vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, high-risk antepartum patients, and newborn care within the first hour of life. The unit also supports outpatient testing and OB .
Shift & Schedule
- 12-hour day shifts, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Float requirement: Mother Baby unit
Required Skills (non-negotiable)
- Minimum 2 years L&D experience
- C-Section circulator and post-CS recovery
- Vaginal exams and laboring patient care (CS and vaginal delivery/recovery)
- Fetal monitoring
- High-risk antepartum care: gestational hypertension, gestational diabetes
- Obstetrical emergencies, including OB hemorrhage
- Newborn care within the first hour of life, including breastfeeding/initial latch
- Strong critical thinking and customer service skills
Required Certifications
- BLS, ACLS, NRP
- Active California RN license
Preferred Qualifications
- Scrub tech experience
- NCC certification in Inpatient Obstetrics (IP-OB) or EFM
Typical Procedures
- Labor and delivery management, including vaginal exams
- Outpatient testing: NST, CST, BPP
- OB , OBED, MSE
- Versions, cervical cerclage, OP injections
