ICU Travel Nurse – Merced, CA | 13-Week Contract

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days and nights (7a/7p)
• 2 weekends per 4 weeks
• Holidays per unit needs
• Urgent start dates available: 10/26, 11/9, 11/30, 12/14
• Guaranteed 36 hours per week

Clinical Scope

The unit manages sepsis, DKA/hyperglycemia, COPD, CVA, GI bleeds, and post-operative recovery. You'll be expected to manage vasoactive and sedation drips (norepinephrine, propofol, versed), parenteral nutrition, and ventilated patients. Comfort with the ABCDE bundle is essential. Respiratory therapy and pharmacy are available 24/7. Nurses read and interpret their own telemetry strips. Strong IV skills are required.

Floating

Travelers are first to float — to telemetry and med-surg floors, where you'll carry a full patient load of 4–5. Comfort with floating is a must.

Orientation

2 shifts in the ICU, plus 1 shift on a float floor.

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• CCRN and basic critical care course preferred

Additional Notes

• Scrub color: Navy
• No block scheduling; this assignment must be your primary commitment
• Cancellation policy: up to 4 shifts per 13-week contract
• Standby response time: 30 minutes; unused standby counts as a cancellation
