CVICU Registered Nurse

Location: Greeley, CO

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 28, 2026

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced CVICU RN to provide direct care to critically ill cardiac and post-cardiothoracic surgery patients. You will manage high-acuity patients requiring hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical circulatory support, and complex medication management in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive bedside nursing care to post-cardiac surgery and critically ill cardiac patients
• Monitor hemodynamic status and respond rapidly to clinical changes
• Manage advanced cardiac equipment including ventilators, arterial lines, pulmonary artery catheters, IABP, and Impella devices
• Administer and titrate vasoactive and antiarrhythmic medications per physician orders
• Provide immediate post-operative care including chest tube and pacing wire management
• Collaborate with cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, intensivists, and the interdisciplinary team
• Perform code interventions and rapid response assessments
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, and recovery

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Colorado (or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years direct CVICU or cardiac critical care experience
• Demonstrated expertise with post-cardiac surgery care, hemodynamic monitoring, IABP, and Impella management
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CCRN certification preferred

Schedule & Expectations

• Every other weekend and holiday rotation per unit staffing requirements
• Regional float assignments to other facilities as staffing needs dictate
