Surgical Technologist – Labor & Delivery / Postpartum
Location: Fort Collins, CO
Shift: 4 x 10 hour days (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Start Date: October 26, 2026
About the Role
Join the facility's obstetric surgical team supporting labor & delivery and postpartum services. You'll work in a dynamic environment assisting with cesarean sections, operative deliveries, and other OB procedures. This role requires strong clinical judgment, anticipation, and seamless collaboration with surgeons, anesthesia, and nursing staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for OB surgical cases
- Serve as surgical first assist, passing instruments and anticipating surgeon needs
- Perform accurate counts of instruments, sponges, and needles before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor sterile technique and take corrective action when breaks occur
- Handle and prepare specimens per facility protocol
- Collaborate with circulating RNs, surgeons, and anesthesia providers
- Manage room turnover and terminal cleaning between cases
- Maintain surgical instruments and equipment organization
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
- CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification
- Surgical First Assist (SFA) certification
- BLS certification
- 1+ years of surgical tech experience
- Obstetric surgical experience required
- Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile technique, and procedural anatomy
