Certified Surgical Technician – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technician for a 13-week assignment in a busy surgical services department. You'll work Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM (40 hours/week) with regular floats to affiliate facilities as needed.
Clinical Scope
This role focuses primarily on total joint replacement procedures, with regular rotations into endoscopy (approximately twice weekly). You'll function as both an operating surgical technician and a preceptor, supporting and training other team members in the OR.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years current Certified Surgical Technician (CST) experience
- Active NBSTSA certification (required; NCCT or equivalent not accepted)
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Demonstrated total joint replacement experience
- Endoscopy experience (non-negotiable)
- Precepting experience required
- Supervisory reference from employment within the past 2 years
Assignment Details
- Contract: 13 weeks, starting November 2, 2026
- Holiday Coverage: You must work two designated blocks if scheduled: Thanksgiving week, Christmas week, and New Year's week
- Float Requirements: Occasional floats to affiliated facilities (approximately 21 miles) for OR and endoscopy support
- RTO: Maximum 5 days; all time-off requests must be submitted at time of application
- Transportation: Personal vehicle required; the area has limited public transit
