Pediatric Cardiac ICU Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Pediatric CVICU nurse for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), with a Tuesday start date. You'll join a dedicated cardiac ICU team caring for critically ill pediatric patients, including those with congenital heart disease and post-operative cardiac cases.

Unit Details

Clinical Scope

You'll perform or support:

• Central line and arterial line management and placement
• Conscious sedation
• Intubation/extubation
• Post-operative cardiac recovery
• Sternal closures
• Code response and ECMO cannulation/decannulation
• CRRT and manual peritoneal dialysis

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year Pediatric CICU/CVICU experience as a staff nurse
• Minimum 2 years PICU experience
• Demonstrated expertise in congenital heart disease and post-operative cardiac management
• Proficiency with arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines
• Current PALS, BLS, and ACLS certifications

Preferred Experience

• 2+ years Pediatric CVICU experience
• 1+ year managing neonatal cardiac patients
• 2+ years pediatric cardiac step-down or cardiology floor experience

Schedule & Logistics

• Rotating weekends (Friday–Saturday nights)
• No call requirement
• Guaranteed 36 hours weekly
• Royal blue scrubs
• Float pool responsibilities include PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, and pediatric oncology
