Medical-Surgical RN – Travel Contract | Lakewood, CO

Shift: 12-hour Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks | Start Date: November 2, 2026

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Unit Overview

This Medical-Surgical unit manages a diverse patient population with moderate-to-high acuity. Common diagnoses include heart failure (CHF), ia, COPD exacerbations, and general Med-Surg presentations. RNs manage drip infusions including analgesics, anticoagulants, and antihypertensives. Respiratory needs include moderate oxygen support.

Telemetry monitoring is centrally managed off the unit; RNs must be independently competent in rhythm strip interpretation.

Schedule & Requirements

• 6–9 weekend shifts required per 6-week schedule
• Self-scheduling and block scheduling both available
• Holiday coverage required per staffing needs
• Float potential to ICU (low-acuity holds), PCU/Stepdown, and Med-Surg Telemetry units based on department need
• Nurse aides on unit; charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment
• Candidates must be present in-state for the full week of orientation
• Valid driver's license required; must reside within 60 miles of the facility

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active RN license (Colorado or compact)
• BLS (American Heart Association)
• Acute care nursing experience required
• BSN not required

Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Cancellation Policy: Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled over a 13-week assignment
