Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced CVOR RN for a 13-week assignment in a cardiovascular operating room. This is a full-time role offering 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Shift & Schedule
- 11 AM – 7 PM, rotating weekends
- On-call requirements apply
- Float as needed to support unit operations
Clinical Scope
You'll work in a busy cardiac surgical environment managing patients across a wide range of procedures, including:
- Adult and pediatric heart transplants
- Coronary artery bypass grafts
- Surgical valve replacements
- TAVR procedures
- Thoracic and lung surgeries
- Ventricular assist device support
- Peripheral vascular interventions
Patient assignments typically involve 3–4 cases, with admission holds as needed. You'll work alongside experienced cardiac surgeons and specialty teams in a patient-focused care setting.
Requirements
- Active Texas RN license (temporary licenses not accepted)
- Minimum 2 years hospital/specialty experience
- Must have: Heart transplant experience, BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Preferred: Pediatric cardiac experience, intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP) expertise, cell saver and peripheral vascular familiarity
Dress Code
- Facility-provided scrubs
- Clean, neat appearance; no extreme hair styles or colors
- Tattoos must be covered when possible
- Visible piercings (other than ears) not permitted
- Facial hair kept clean and neatly trimmed
