Post-Op Med/Surg RN — Nashville, TN | Night Shift | 13-Week Contract

Join a busy Post-Op Med/Surg unit in Nashville, TN, where you'll care for a diverse surgical patient population requiring attentive post-operative management and skilled nursing intervention.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week; 36 guaranteed hours
• Two weekends (4 shifts) per 4-week schedule
• Contract labor floats first; rotation applied when multiple travelers are scheduled

Clinical Scope

This unit manages post-surgical patients requiring IV therapy, telemetry monitoring, wound care, and drain management. Core nursing skills include:

• IV insertion and maintenance
• Basic wound care
• Surgical drain, nasogastric tube, and chest tube management
• PCA, feeding pump, and continuous pulse oximetry monitoring
• Bedside shift report and family-inclusive care planning

Unit Support

• Tech support available on both day and night shifts
• Unit secretary on-site 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Requirements

• Active RN license (Tennessee or compact)
• BLS certification
• Prior Med/Surg experience required
• Ability to prioritize, multitask, and manage a varied post-op patient load

Dress Code

Navy scrubs, tops and bottoms
