Medical-Surgical / Telemetry RN – Night Shift | Maryville, TN

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 3x12 nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Start Date: November 2, 2026
• Weekend Coverage: Every other weekend (subject to change based on need)

Unit Overview

This adult med-surg/telemetry unit cares for an adult and geriatric patient population with a daily census of 15–20 patients. The unit is supported by a robust interdisciplinary team including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response, social services, and phlebotomy.

Floating to like units based on demonstrated competencies may be required.

Clinical Skills Required

• Telemetry monitoring
• Blood product administration
• Central line blood draws and PICC line management
• Peripheral line and port access/management
• Feeding tube care and management
• Colostomy/ileostomy care
• Bowel obstruction management
• Total joint replacement and orthopedic trauma care
• Peripheral nerve block catheter management
• Short-stay/23-hour unit experience

Requirements

• Active RN license (Tennessee or multistate compact)
• Minimum 1 year of med-surg/telemetry experience
• Prior travel nursing experience required — first-time travelers not accepted
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum 1 year of electronic medical record experience required
• Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
• Prior charge nurse experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions accepted)

Orientation & Onboarding

Orientation occurs every Monday. Pre-assignment testing and compliance modules must be completed within 48 hours of receiving login credentials. Module hours (up to 16) are reimbursable.
