Labor & Delivery RN — Night Shift | Los Angeles, CA

13-Week Contract | Nights 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM

This L&D unit provides comprehensive care across the full spectrum of obstetric risk, supporting both low- and high-risk patients with 24-hour OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage. The unit includes , LDR, OR, NICU, and post-partum areas, with float potential to Perinatal.

Shift & Scheduling

• Nights: 3×12-hour shifts (19:00–07:30)
• 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday nights)
• Mandatory on-call: 2 times per month in addition to scheduled shifts
• Candidates may be placed on call if not needed for a scheduled shift
• Must be available to work most holidays
• No RTO during the first two weeks of the assignment; maximum 3 days RTO for the contract

Patient Population

Neonates, adolescents, and adults — low- and high-risk L&D

Required Skills

• External fetal monitoring
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Circulate for C-section

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• AWHONN Advanced

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of L&D RN experience
• Active California RN license required at submission
• First-time travelers accepted
• Pre-start advanced EKG exam required (80% minimum passing score; two attempts permitted)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility — arrive free of tobacco odor
• References and certifications must be submitted with application
