Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift position in a medical-surgical telemetry unit caring for adult and geriatric patients. This is a 13-week contract beginning ASAP.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3 days per week (12-hour shifts)
- Weekends: Every other weekend required
- Floating: May float to other med-surg units as needed
- Call: No on-call requirement
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience
- Current RN license (compact license acceptable)
- ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Essential: Demonstrated experience managing ventilated patients and tracheostomy care (this is a core requirement for this role)
- 2 professional references covering the past 3 years
Clinical Scope
The unit manages a diverse patient population including:
- Cardiac (chest pain, elevated troponin, arrhythmias, CHF)
- Neuro (stroke, TIA, seizure)
- Respiratory (ia, COPD, COVID-19)
- GI/GU/Endocrine (renal failure, diabetes, pancreatitis)
- Surgical (joint replacement, hysterectomy, abdominal procedures)
- Skin and wound care
You'll manage central lines, PICCs, feeding tubes, arterial lines, telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, high-flow oxygen delivery, and post-procedure care.
Support Services
Physical therapy, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, social services, rapid response, and phlebotomy are available on-site.
