Nursery Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Nursery Nurse for a dedicated night shift role. You'll work in a specialized nursery unit attending every delivery and providing comprehensive care for newborns, including those requiring additional support.

Shift & Schedule

  • Night shifts, 12-hour blocks
  • Every other weekend or every weekend (per facility scheduling)
  • 13-week contract with guaranteed hours

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of nursery nursing experience
  • Demonstrated experience caring for sick or high-risk newborns
  • Current BLS, STABLE, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certifications

Clinical Environment

The nursery operates as a dedicated unit separate from the postpartum area, allowing families the option to place their babies in the nursery for observation and care. You will not float to other hospital units. The facility manages approximately 80–90 births per month. Staffing follows AWHONN standards for patient ratios.

What You'll Do

  • Attend deliveries and provide immediate newborn assessment and care
  • Monitor and manage newborns, from well babies to those requiring intensive observation
  • Perform routine nursery procedures and documentation
  • Collaborate with the obstetric and postpartum teams in a family-centered model

This is an ideal opportunity for a nurse seeking stability in a focused nursery setting without unit float responsibilities.
