Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) – Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for its Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. You'll provide specialized care to critically ill pediatric patients, ranging from infants through young adults (up to age 25), in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour rotating shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Shifts may rotate to meet operational needs; the facility will work with your preferences when possible
• Willingness to work at least every other holiday required
• 13-week contract

Clinical Focus

• Epilepsy monitoring and seizure management
• High-acuity pediatric critical care
• Patients requiring advanced hemodynamic support and inotropic management
• EKG rhythm interpretation and monitoring

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 12 months permanent experience in pediatric critical care
• Current Ohio RN license or valid compact state license (must be in hand at time of submission)
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• EKG competency and inotrope administration experience
• NIHSS certification preferred
• Strong manager or supervisor reference from specialty assignment within the past 12 months

Onboarding & Assessments

• ECG rhythm recognition test and safeMedicate assessment during orientation (acceptable score required)
• Pre-start orientation modules (6–15 hours)
• Background check completed within 48 hours of contract signing

Additional Requirements

• COVID-19 and flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Drug screening and background clearance
• No open background cases or license hits
