Labor and Delivery Nurse
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Contract: 13 weeks | Start: October 8, 2026
About the Role
You'll provide direct nursing care to expectant mothers and newborns before, during, and immediately after childbirth. This is hands-on clinical work requiring strong assessment skills, critical thinking, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs throughout labor and delivery
- Manage pain relief, including epidural administration
- Assist with vaginal and surgical deliveries
- Implement and monitor individualized patient care plans
- Coordinate care across all disciplines to ensure seamless patient experiences
- Execute physician and nursing orders
- Assess discharge planning needs and educate families on postpartum recovery
- Follow Standard Precautions and maintain a safe care environment
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification required)
- Ability to work up to 6 weekend shifts and holidays as needed
- Critical thinking skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Comfort in a fast-paced, occasionally stressful environment
Onboarding
You'll complete facility-specific competency assessments, skills validation, pharmacology and EKG exams, and required health screenings (vaccinations, TB testing, drug screen, background check) before your start date.
