PCU / Stepdown

IMCU / Step-Down RN — Night Shift | Lubbock, TX | 13-Week Contract

This intermediate care/step-down unit manages a mixed adult population — adolescents through geriatrics — with a focus on cardiac, respiratory, and neurological acuity. The unit sees diagnoses including Afib/RVR, NSTEMI, ARF, sepsis, ia/COPD, CHF, GI bleed, TIA, and CVA.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, 3×12-hour shifts
• Weekends required: 6 shifts per scheduling period; must commit to 3 of 5 designated holidays
• On-call: Not required
• Floating between units/sister facilities is expected; refusal may result in assignment termination

Clinical Scope

• Cardiac drips (titration), vasoactive drip management
• Post-cath lab and post-cardiac surgery care, TAVR, Watchman procedures
• TR band and sheath removal, angiograms, heart caths with or without intervention
• Tracheostomy care with continuous ventilator management
• Telemetry monitoring, heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols, thrombolytic agents
• Management of dysrhythmias, arterial line management, central line care

Required Certifications & Qualifications

• Active compact RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of IMCU/step-down experience required; 2 years preferred
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Charge experience preferred

Scrubs: Solid navy blue

Orientation: 12 hours
